TRAVEL & ME
My Story in Travel
52 countries and counting. 200+ destinations and still wondering.

My first taste of travel was in college. We were sent as the university's representative for a national quiz bee in an Old town during their annual festival. Sights, sounds and something stirred in me.

I got bitten by the travel bug when my sisters gave me an all-expense paid trip to travel England and Scotland with them as a graduation gift. Seeing places that only existed in pages of books for me was something I knew I was meant to do. Keep chasing sunsets. Yearn for the next destination.

My first solo trip was in Thailand - so familiar and yet so foreign. I remember walking around Ayutthaya and thinking - I would want to see more places that talk about history.
Most of my trips are either by myself or with my sister, Zaidee. Together, we have travelled the USA - Eastern, Southern, and the Rockies, Scandinavia, Balkans, and most of Eastern Europe.

With friends - got stranded with seven girlfriends atop a Jordanian mountain including Kirsten - my reason to visit Houston. Giggled through Ireland, Turkey, Slovenia, Croatia and parts of London to see Harry Potter with my fellow Potterhead friend Jho. Danced my way with my four old colleagues from Prague, Berlin to Amsterdam. Tried to mend a broken heart through the mountains of Georgia with Len. Jumped on a last-minute adventure to witness the Great Migration in Kenya with Nina. Rode shotgun with the other half all through the Pacific Northwest, Southwestern coast, desert, and canyons. Got drenched under the pouring rain in Paris and Hanoi with Azimar. Attended a wedding of friends in Toledo (Joanna) and Sorrento (Kellie) - both ended up finding travel buddies along the way.

Still - I loved travelling solo. This is where I get the chance to meet and engage with strangers from all over the world. Also, a time to reconnect with friends who now lived afar.

At 42, I have now travelled to 230+ cities in 52 countries on 4 continents. I have no travel goals - just float wherever the wind will take me.
